Carco Theatre

Rental Requirements

Rental times include all set-up and clean-up. The call times for Carco staff are generally 30-minutes before the booked time and the calls usually extend to 30-minutes after each booking’s scheduled end. Some events may require more set-up or strike time.

For bookings that start or stop outside Carco’s ordinary operating hours (06:00 – 23:59) or occur on federally-recognized holidays, additional charges may apply (rates for unusual hours are 1-1/2 times).

A Certificate of Insurance and Endorsement, naming Puget Sound Access a Primary and Non-contributory Additional Insured, must be submitted and approved by PSA 15 days prior to first booking date of contract.

The Renter may be subject to taxation associated with this Agreement.  This includes, but is not limited to, sales taxes and a 5% City of Renton paid admission tax. The Renter is responsible for paying all taxes. Carco Theatre, Puget Sound Access, and Puget Productions will not pay any taxes associated with your event.

Rules & Regulations

Renter will not allow anyone to take food or drinks into the auditorium. Carco Theatre has no preferred vendors, so any licensed caterer is welcomed.

If you serve or offer food, you are responsible for knowing and following relevant regulations and safety standards for food storage, handling, and processing.  If required, you will obtain required permits, credentials, and otherwise meet your legal and safety obligations. Only Carco staff may handle, sell or serve alcohol.

Renter must supply all consumable supplies.  These include, but are not limited to, AA batteries, recordable media, plates, napkins, and cutlery.

At least one Carco staff must be present at every event.  This is generally a House Manager.

For events that use Carco equipment (lights, audio, etc.), Carco technical staff must be present.
Only Carco-qualified persons may adjust, control, or attach to Carco gear. Persons intending to operate Carco equipment must be qualified by Carco prior to event

Cancellation Policy

Bookings require a 30% deposit of the total amount due upon signing.

A processing fee of 3% will be charged for payments made by credit or debit cards.

Returned checks, insufficient funds, closed accounts, or for any other reason, the Renter will be charged $50.

Unless mutually agreed to in writing, complete payment is due before the event starts. For events that span multiple days, payment is due before the first public event.

Renters are responsible for the prompt and full payment of all fees and charges including those billed after the event reflecting any unexpected additional charges for cleaning, repairs, disposal, replacement of lost items, and/or time overages.

Late payments are subject to a charge of 1% per month (or the maximum allowed by law) plus all collection fees or attorney’s fees.

Cancellations:
More than 30-days prior to event: Full refund
15-30 days prior to the event: 50% refund
Less than two weeks prior to the event: NO refunds will be given

The Building

Carco Theatre is a 300-seat facility with many amenities and flexible hours, making it suitable for business meetings, seminars, receptions, and other activities. Carco Theatre is wheelchair accessible and is equipped with assistive listening devices for the hearing impaired.

Carco Theatre is first and foremost a community rental venue. We pride ourselves on our flexibility in working with a wide variety of populations, and in keeping our theatre up to industry standards for many types of events and exhibits.

Parking

We are located right off I-405 at Exit 4 to Maple Valley Highway/Route 169, and parking is free!
