Availability
The space is typically available on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evening of every month, after 5pm.
The Space
Type Set is an airy, light-filled 600-square-foot space suitable for readings, book parties, book clubs, table reads, writing workshops, classes, and other literary events. The floor is concrete and most of the walls are white.
It is equipped with:
-nine desks that can be moved around on casters
-one large central wooden table
-10 office chairs
-two easy chairs
-a microwave
-a small refrigerator
-a coffee maker
-an electric kettle
-a chalkboard wall and chalk
-lamps
-dimmable overhead lighting
-a bathroom
Clients may bring in additional chairs, media stands, or projector screens for events. Type Set is on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible.
Hourly Rental
$45 per hour
Minimum rental is three hours. Rental time should include setup and cleanup.

Rental Requirements
Liability insurance is required for public events.
Rules & Regulations
No smoking is allowed in the venue or within 25 feet of windows and doors.
Renters must clean up after their event.
No loud noise is allowed after 10pm.
Cancellation Policy
A deposit of 50 percent is required for reservation.

The Building
Type Set is a co-working space for serious writers of all kinds in Seattle’s Columbia City. We offer work desks with lamps and comfortable chairs, in a quiet, collegial environment equipped with a printer, a microwave, and a refrigerator. Coffee, tea, and wi-fi are provided; lockers are available for an additional charge. We also organize monthly events for writers.
Some of our current members include novelists, journalists, playwrights, and communication professionals.
Memberships start at $140 per month for full-time access. For more information or to apply, please visit www.typesetseattle.com.
Hours
Full-time membership grants access from 5am to midnight daily.
Part-time membership grants access from 5am to 10am and 5pm to midnight on weekdays, plus all day on weekends.
Parking
Some free street parking is available in the neighborhood. Many free spaces are limited to two hours by city zone rules. Paid parking is available in a private lot.
Type Set members have the option to purchase a two-year zone parking pass for $65.
The venue is located close to the Columbia City light rail station and the 7 and 9 buses.
Security
Access is using keys.
