The Space
Bare bones studio space in the Oye Building - Art studio, shop space, storage, flex space. Available October 1st.
$295/month plus some utilities. Studio is upstairs facing north. It is long and skinny - about 5’ x 30’ with north light via a window overlooking 103rd (and the lovely Vern Funk Insurance building - now repurposed as Pacific Paws!), and has been used by a painter most recently. Also included is about 30 sq. feet of extra storage space in the adjacent room. Parking is usually fairly easy on 103rd St. or in the small parking lot behind the building.
The building is occupied by art and maker spaces - currently myself
(glass casting, public art - www.gardnerart.com), coffee roasters
(Pilgrim Coffee), K9 Mono Pottery, Tom Hamburger Woodworking, and artist HelenAmerica.

The Building
Go North, Young Maker!
North Park Studios is a collection of studios spaces for art/fabrication in the newly repurposed Oye Building. The building was built in 1927 as the North Park Grocery store and was rather nice in its day. Over its lifespan it has been a uniform factory and most recently a porn shop called The Voyeur. The North Park neighborhood (Aurora) is seedy, but has its charms and is nicely located if you live in Ballard, Fremont, Greenlake, etc.. There is a new coffee shop across the street (Pilgrim Coffee).
The building is bordered by 103rd St. on the north, Aurora Ave. on the east, and an alley on the west. There is easy parking on 103rd St. or in the small parking lot on the western part of the property. The front portion of the building has 16’ tall ceilings and some retail potential.
Various studio spaces are available for art/fabrication/storage etc. Currently myself (glass casting, public art - www.gardnerart.com), coffee roaster (Pilgrim Coffee), the maker group Art + Tech + Trash, and the Seattle Artist League.
