The Space

Base operates a creative space in Georgetown, Seattle—a 2,000 square foot room with a sprung floor, 20-foot-high ceiling, light and sound systems, natural light, kitchenette, bathroom and a maximum capacity of 99. Base offers creative residencies and space rental to artists from Seattle and beyond. Base is also available for performances and events.

Hourly Rental

$10 per hour

Daily Rental

$450 per day

One night performance rate.

Weekly Rental

$1500 per week

These rates include full access to Base for the duration of your Base Independent, as well as technical orientation, access to sound and light systems, a house manager for up to three performances and limited marketing support. These rates also include access to seating and risers to be installed and de-installed by your team. If you require Base staff to set up and take down seating and risers, there is an additional cost of $200. Video projector is available for $20/night or $70/week. Additional house management is available for $90 per performance and a Marley floor is available for an additional fee of $175. There is an additional charge for workshops held during a Base Independent residency, to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Rules & Regulations

- Sound volumes must be kept to a reasonable level, as neighbors often have working business hours and clients in their studios.
-Renters may not leave any equipment, costumes, props or personal belongings anywhere in the space, and must return space to an orderly state.
-No smoking anywhere inside the building. No incense or open flames of any sort.


Cancellation Policy

Payment can be paid in advance or at the time of the rental. 48hrs is required for any cancellations.

The Building

Base is a nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating risk and invention in dance, performance, and multidisciplinary art. The venue is located inside Equinox Studios, a vibrant arts complex housing an eclectic range of studios and businesses in Georgetown, Seattle.
