The Building

Events at The Woods Cider House and Brewery Tasting Room

Tasting Room for Seattle Cider Co., Two Beers Brewery, and Sound Craft Seltzer.

The Reservable Area

Our only reservable area is a semi-private ~500 sq ft mezzanine, with benches, tables and chairs included. The mezzanine area is set up to seat 35 comfortably, and can be switched to a standing room space that can fit up to 40-50. If more space is needed, we can sometimes accommodate.

Children and Infants

We are a 21+ venue, so unfortunately, kids are not allowed on the premise, including infants. This includes the outdoor patio area.

Alcohol

The Woods operates under a Tavern license, meaning that we are able to serve beer, cider and wine, but no consumption of spirits is allowed on the premise. We have 12 beers, 14 ciders, and 3 hard seltzers regularly on draft and 3 wines. If you have a special bottle of beer or bubbly you would like to pour for your celebration, we will allow outside alcohol on a case by case basis, at a $15 corkage fee per bottle.

Rental Fees

The fee for reserving the space Monday-Thursday and Sunday is $100.00. Fridays and Saturdays are $200.00. This fee includes tax and reserves the space for your event for a total of four hours. Your four-hour time slot includes set-up and tear down for your event. At the end of your reservation time, any leftover food and decorations should be packed up. All dirty dishes or trash should be properly disposed of so that the space can be opened up for public use. A $50.00 cleaning fee will be applied to your rental cost if the space is left in disarray. If you would like to keep using the space after your four-hour block, you may do so at a $50.00 per hour rate. If your party is over 40 people, you will be charged an extra $150.00 to cover our costs for extra staffing. That rate goes up to $225 dollars if your event is on a Friday or Saturday. If you’d like to host the tab, we are happy to do that, or if you’d like to pick up, say, the first round for your guests, we have drink tickets available as well. All hosted tabs will have a 20% gratuity assessed at the end of service. If you cancel your reservation less then 7 days in advance, you will be charged 50% of the reservation fee. A signed contract and credit card information is required to reserve the space for your event.

Timeline

We are open from 3-9pm Monday-Thursday, and 3-10pm on Fridays. Saturdays we’re open from 1-10pm and Sundays we’re open from 1-6pm. “Last call” for food goes out 1 hour before close and “last call” for drinks a half hour before close. However, if you’d like to extend your event to run later into the evening, we can sometimes accommodate that request, though there is an additional hourly fee for the bartenders to stay on after close.

Food

All food is handled by Bread and Circuses, the food truck / kitchen located in our taproom, so we respectfully ask people not to bring in outside food. A cake cutting fee will be applied to outside desserts brought into the tasting room. It’s a $2 per person fee, with a $20 minimum payable to B&C when you arrive for your event. Whether you’re interested in a plated setup, or more of a buffet setting, Lyndsey Logan, B&C’s Catering Manager, should be able to answer any questions you have regarding food items. Her email is Lyndsey@hallavastreetfood.com

Decorations

Decorations are totally okay with these stipulations:

No pins or nails are used to attach items to the walls.

Only blue tape is used as an adhesive.

All decorations are taken down and disposed of at the end of the event.

Absolutely no glitter, confetti or open flames. None.

Breaking any of those rules will result in a $50 cleaning / repair fee added to the tab at the end of the night.

If you’d rather not pay a fee to reserve space, feel free to come and grab tables and chairs as they become available. We just ask that you give us a heads up if your party is going to be 10 people or more, so that we may staff accordingly.

FAQ

RE: TV in the Event Space

The TV is the mezz. is absolutely available for presentations, movies, etc… That TV has HDMI input, so all that’s required is that they bring a device that can output via HDMI, which is virtually every device now.

RE: Artwork on the Walls

We are liable for the artwork while it’s in our space, so every of time we have to move and store it somewhere, the likelihood of it getting damaged increases. If they can limit the amount of wall space that we’d need to free up (so as to only have to move one or two pictures), that’d be fine by me. If they’re looking to paper all the walls, I’m less inclined to sign off on that.

RE: Is the taproom handicap accessible?

Technically the taproom is handicap accessible, but it’s a little bit of a trek. The dock is accessible via ramps

o

n the north end (by Kelly Paper) and about 5 units south of us (by Grand Image). Since the building is zoned as “Light industrial”, we’re not allowed to add any accessibility ramps on the front of the dock. Handicap accessibility is up to the landlords, not the tenants. We designed the interior of the tasting room to be 100% ADA compliant, so once they’re through the door, they’re free and clear. It’s just about a 200’ distance from the closest ramp to our front door.
